Brandt Student CenterGoal: $5-8 million
Imagine an all-campus gathering place. A place where students can study, grab a snack, hold club and organizational meetings and work out. Also imagine that this place is so important, so critical to our culture that members of the board of trustees made a lead gift to build it and students have actually voted to increase their own activity fees to make certain it happens. That’s how excited we are about building the Brandt Student Center at Shenandoah.
At Shenandoah, we promote a vibrant student life experience and, until now, have provided woefully inadequate space to fulfill the needs of our diverse and interactive community. The Brandt Student Center will transform our community. It will contain social, recreational and fitness spaces as well as a student government suite and offices for clubs and organizations. Equipped with a wireless network and several computing stations, it will also include a food court, bookstore and large multipurpose room. It will be the place where the spirit within each Shenandoah student finds its home.
“The student center will be a rallying place where alumni can reconnect with each other. It belongs to them as well as current students. The center will help us serve our entire university community in ways we currently can’t.”
— Claressa Morton, vice president for student affairs
