New Athletic CenterGoal: $9.5-20 million
The spirit of competition is alive and well at Shenandoah University. About 400 students participate on our 16 teams, and many more enjoy intramural and recreational activities. Our current athletic facilities, however, fall short.
At Shenandoah, we are committed to competing successfully at the Division III level, attracting talented student-athletes, and promoting the health and wellness of our students. Shingleton Gymnasium no longer meets our needs, and the Aikens Athletic Center primarily supports only our football program. We need athletic facilities that serve every team and every student. The new athletic center will provide better spaces for practices, competitions and fans, especially for court sports such as basketball and volleyball. In addition, we will add locker-rooms, a weight facility and fitness room, offices, a president’s box and much more. The center will be a first-rate, multipurpose facility for all of our students.
